Activity: Intelligent Vehicles Design and Lecture Practices

My Experience as a Cadre at the Association of Intelligent Vehicles and Opto-electronic Information, Chongqing University

From October 2021 to July 2022, I served as a cadre at the Association of Intelligent Vehicles and Opto-electronic Information at Chongqing University. During my time with the association, I had the opportunity to contribute to developing intelligent vehicle technologies, enhance my technical skills in microcontroller programming, and collaborate with fellow members on exciting projects related to trajectory cars. This experience enriched my understanding of the technical and organizational aspects of working in a student-led technical association.

Key Achievements

  • Programming:

    • I participated in the association’s winter camp for new creators, where my team and I were responsible for the production, programming, and debugging of a trajectory car. Using tools like Keil5, Proteus, and Cube MX, we could realize the trajectory car’s basic functions. This project provided hands-on experience in embedded systems, microcontroller programming, and brilliant vehicles.
  • Technical Communication:

    • I was responsible for producing introductory lectures on the STM32 microcontroller and the basics of intelligent vehicles. These lectures aimed to educate new members on the fundamental concepts of embedded systems and intelligent transportation. The experience improved my ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. It enhanced my public speaking skills in a technical setting.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:

    • As a cadre, I was actively involved in the day-to-day affairs of the association, participating in regular meetings and supporting various events. I contributed to coordinating activities, managed communications between members, and ensured that the association’s goals were being met. This experience honed my organizational and leadership skills and taught me the importance of teamwork in achieving shared objectives.

What I Learned

  • Embedded Systems and Microcontroller Programming:

    • This experience significantly improved my understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller programming, particularly in the context of intelligent vehicles. The hands-on work with STM32 and related software allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge practically and gain insight into the technical challenges of developing intelligent transportation systems.
  • Teaching and Technical Communication:

    • By creating and delivering technical lectures, I enhanced my ability to break down complex topics for a broader audience. Teaching others about the STM32 microcontroller and intelligent vehicles reinforced my understanding and taught me how to communicate technical material effectively, a skill essential for future academic and professional collaborations.
  • Leadership and Teamwork:

    • As a cadre, I learned valuable leadership and teamwork skills. Whether coordinating with fellow association members, managing events, or supporting collaborative projects, I gained firsthand experience in organizing and leading a group of like-minded individuals toward common goals.

Conclusion

My time as a cadre at the Association of Intelligent Vehicles and Opto-electronic Information at Chongqing University was a formative experience that allowed me to develop technical and leadership skills. The programming work on the trajectory car and my involvement in teaching and team coordination have prepared me for more advanced work in embedded systems and intelligent vehicles.

This experience has further solidified my interest in intelligent vehicle technologies and embedded systems. I look forward to exploring more advanced topics in these areas as I continue my academic journey. I am excited to build upon the skills I gained during this time and apply them to future projects and collaborations.
